We bought a Male Canadian Leonberger Pup -Not a German Leonberger- on 18 October, 2016
The Canadian breed is larger, has longer hair, sheds less, doesn't drool, more gentle, more protective than the German breed. Our Pup has CKC & AKC papers certifying that he is a pure bread champion quality
Canadian Leonberger
This is the Pup's Daddy. The licensed breeder say our Pup will look like his Daddy when he's around two years old. His Daddy in this picture is 4 years old, he weighs in at 208 pounds and stands 3 feet tall from the ground to his front shoulders
He is very gentle with everyone. he is already protective of all of us. we had an unexpected visitor
last weekend and he stood his ground standing in between our visitor and us making a quite growling sound. letting our visitor know, not to mess with us. It was so cute, and a very good behavior.
His vet says this breed's average life span is 32 years, and they are a very healthy breed and, they usually have no medical issues. when they do its with their hind hips when they are around 22 years old. He adds: Mild pain medication and herbs added to their diet usually resolves it.
